Bangladesh Election Commission

The Election Commission of Bangladesh has been established under Article 118 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. There will be an Election Commission of Bangladesh with the Chief Election Commissioner and not more than four Election Commissioners. If the Election Commission is composed of more than one Election Commissioner, the Chief Election Commissioner will act as the Chairman of the Commission. Subject to the provisions of the Constitution, the term of the Chief Election Commissioner and any Election Commissioner is five years from the date of assuming office.
